Ekua Holmes is a Boston-based artist who creates art using collaged imagery focused on subjects, crafted from torn paper. Her work is inspired by childhood, hope, and faith. I selected Ekua Holmes because I was drawn to her unique, eclectic style and the narrative nature of her work.
I resonate with Ekua Holmes for her passion for creating as a child. I wrote the copy used in this article and used imagery from her work. This spread was from my initial typography course. During the class, I explored different typographical arrangements to arrange a composition appealingly and effectively. The project taught me a lot about the importance of font choice, spacing, size, and overall layout design.
